As church leaders, we typically put more effort into the Word than anyone else. We study rigorously, strive to learn more, and often keep various reference books close at hand for our meditation.
Honestly, a month before attending the seminar, when I first encountered QTin, I simply thought of it as just one more reference book among many. Even the first two short readings I encountered, I read through without much thought. But everything changed when I formally participated in this meditation seminar. The seminar guided me on how to practice QTin in daily life and how to apply it personally.
Up until now, the sermons I delivered under the title of ‘leader’ were mostly messages directed toward others. Sermons that honestly set myself before the Word were rare. But as I dug deeply into QT-in and began to focus there, remarkable blessing and change came into my life.
I began to wrestle with what each day’s Word was teaching me, and how to weave that Word into my life as I lived out each day. Furthermore, this seminar helped me see Scripture at a deeper level, opening my eyes to read the whole Word as it flows through Jesus Christ. Even holding a position as a church leader, it led me to humbly face how lacking I truly am before God, and where I actually stand in my relationship with Him.
From the second week of the seminar, when I began studying Scripture following QT-in’s guidance, I felt my spiritual life and maturity being lifted to a higher level. This seminar didn’t merely point out our weaknesses and shortcomings, it drew us closer to God. It made the time spent reading and studying Scripture far more effective, and it cultivated a holy habit of digging deeply into the meaning of the Word to the very end. It helped me handle His Word in a more systematic and mature way, in order to rightly build myself up in God.
Just as a mirror shows a person’s appearance and position exactly as they are, this seminar showed me, with striking clarity, my spiritual level and maturity, my personal relationship with God, and how intimately I am truly walking with His Word.
I don’t want to keep the grace I received from this seminar to myself alone. I now want to begin this kind of meditation at my own ministry, in my church. Because it’s not just about building up one person, our entire church community needs to be more firmly rooted in the Word of God.
I’m convinced that if the many diaspora church communities and the Nepali community encounter this seminar and begin Scripture meditation through QTin, truly great and astonishing blessings will come upon them.
