Life is not easy. Every person will encounter numerous instances in their daily life where they feel overwhelmed. Even for the strong willed, there will be times of feeling helplessness and pain. That is why rather than a teacher who gives good instructions on ‘how to live’, we need a saviour who ‘helps one live like that’.
If you think about what we need most in our lives, it is the ability to bear this weight of life. When there are a lot of things to be done and the future is uncertain, we need to be able to keep our minds clear of worries and anxiety. This can be attained by living in and surrendering to God. Consequently, we should concentrate on discovering God while our minds are uncontrollable and when thoughts are unclear.
Secondly, we need the ability to love and embrace one another. The relationships with other people are the root cause of most life’s challenges and sufferings and there is nothing more painful than the feeling of hate towards another person. Although there is usually a reason behind the hate, the most painful thing in that moment is our own agony and the worst part is that there is nothing we can do to stop it.
Our third priority is to complete tasks promptly and properly. It is to live a sincere life. To do this, one must resist the little temptations that could get in the way. This self-restraint is necessary to achieve good results from the efforts.
In my recent prayers, God showed me to his Word. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7) God promises to give us what we most need in our lives, power, love and self-discipline.
In the mist of the most powerful spiritual battlefield, we walk the path to find God. Strangely when there is time and the desire, we find that far too often we fail to do so. This is because when we find God and continue to seek Him, Satan knows that we will find the strength to overcome life’s obstacles in a way that we thought impossible thus he will make every effort to prevent it. As a result, we must decide to fight the battles God permits in our lives with faith and above all, we must seek the help of the Holy Spirit and eventually we will win.
Life may seem complicated, but at the same time it is quite simple. When you are close to God, he will bring you peace. Therefore, let’s not give up in seeking Him. The most important thing is to keep going. Here we go again!!
