The greatest enlightenment God gave me last year was the fact that God called me as his co-worker. The fact that I am His co-worker means that God has decided not to do any work without me. This also means that because of that decision, God cannot do any work without me. That is why our role is tremendously important. This is the reason why God had to persuade and send Moises to Egypt.
That is why God puts the most effort in preparing His people. That person is devoted to God. He trusts God and obeys with faith even if he is scared. That way, God works miraculously through him and eventually makes him like Him in front of many people. God has once told Moises that “I have made you like God to Pharaoh”.
What was the word God proclaimed through Gideon when He gathered only 300 Israelites to fight the huge Midianite army of 32,000 men, after smashing the last jars? It was “a sword for the Lord and for Gideon!”. God wants to put his co-workers as the same position as God Himself. That is co-worker.
Elijah confronts with 850 prophets of Baal and Asherah on Mount Carmel about who the real God is. When the prophets of Baal fail to show signs of fire, Elijah compresses the alter, pours huge amount of water and prays. Do you remember what the prayer was?
“At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.” (1 Kings 18:36)
It is asking to know that Jehovah is the true God and that I am the servant of God. It is announcing both God and Elijah. It is also asking to know that I am the co-worker who has been designated God’s work.
When we have the heart and attitude as God’s co-worker, we are able to show all His power and wisdom. Although it is difficult as human beings, we must strive to live a life at the standard of God. In the era of AI, we cannot live only with human ability. We must live through God’s power. Every Christians have been called as the people who are able to live so.
“And his incomparably great power is the same as the mighty strength.” (Ephesians 1:19)
